ENG VERSION

This blog was given to me by my very good friends met in Bologna during Uni. After a while I stopped writing, things change and sometimes life is so busy and complicated that you forget what truly makes you happy. But here I am again, with a new look and new recipes.
But first, I think that an introduction is needed.
Where to start?
My story is a little complicated. Every time someone asks me where do I come from I always find myself in difficulty. I like to think that I don't belong to a certain place, maybe at the end of this post you will understand why.
I was born in Croydon, UK, in 1991. My mother is South American and my father is from Naples. My abuelita, that in Spanish stands for grandmother, is from Italians descendants who emigrated to Perù before the Great War. Genoese to be precise. My grandfather, on the other hand, is Greek. He comes from generations of Athenians, proud and nationalist,  almost as much as the guy in  "My big, fat Greek wedding". Great movie by the way, if you haven't seen it, check it out, it really does represent a typical greek family, no exeptions, mine as well!
I lived for a while in England but soon after we moved to Sorrento, my father's hometown, as well as my grandfather's. My grandma is Sicilian. I never thought she was from Sicily until she told me.
My days went by to the sound of Spice Girls, Nek (an Italian singer) and whole summers spent in London, but Brighton will always remain my favorite summer destination.
At ten I moved to Rome, to be exact in the municipality of Fiumicino. My parents split up and for us, my mom, me and my sister, it was the start of something new.
I attended the Leonardo Da Vinci high school in Maccarese and I graduated in 2010.
Soon after I started a new life, I moved to Bologna where I studied Law.
Years passed, my willingness to study faded a bit away, I met wonderful people and then 2013 came. The University of Southampton welcomed me for my one-year erasmus experience. Needless to say, returning home was an immense joy.

Then things changed. I graduated, I came back to Rome, where I'm still unemployed (hopefully not for long) with something always cooking in the oven.

In addition to cooking, I like reading, especially English romantic literature, having tea at 5 with a dash of milk, traveling, even if just with my mind (i'd like to plan a trip to Asia), listening to lots of music, of any kind, although recentry I'm into Hip-hop, rap.
Sociable, weary, cheerful, sometimes introverted, deeply touchy, selfless, generous, creative, moody and precise. Here's who I am.
I love pizza, in all its forms, I'm completely obsessed. At a point that I think I have tried 2/3 of the pizzerias in Bologna. My love for pizza is so mad that I got a tattoo.
I always order a margherita when I have the opportunity to eat the real and genuine ingredients, in other circumstances Pepperoni pizza, because I REALLY love spicy food.
I hate fried food, I eat it but a baked potato with rosemary, garlic and an excessively amount of extra virgin olive oil drives me crazy.
In general I love leavened products, from savoury to sweet, I would like to attend a baking course. I would say that I am gifted for pastry, only because it goes well with my precise and fussy character.
I own almost all Jamie Oliver's books, I would like to try more asian recipes and I like to collect Conad's food brochures.
I love to go grocery shopping, sometimes it even takes me three hours and it would be idyllic to find my true love between the isles.
I have a dog, her name is Zara, Zuzzu for short, I love her more than my own life. She is my one true companion of adventures especially the ones involving naps on the sofa.
Have I said enough?
Also, I really hate capers.

For all my English readers, or to all foreigners, if you click on the upper left box (next to the Beccalicious Logo there are three stripes), there's a google translate button that will allow you to read my blog in your language!
